owen loves

Owen is so full of love.  He loves everyone.  Over Thanksgiving Alyssa was in town and he wasn't sure if he wanted to go to her or not.  She bribed him with the kitty.  He loves the kitty so much he was ok playing with her, even though he didn't know who she was.  He would crawl up to her and say kitty kitty and they would go on a kitty hunt.

Owen loves dada to. Every morning after his bottle and diaper change I say where's dada and he points to our room.  He gets so happy and smiley.  He crawls all over dada in bed.  Sometimes we go play outside and wait for dada to come home and watch his car pull up.  The other morning we were playing outside Owen says dada and points to  grandmas car.  I say dada isn't there.  He crawls to me points to the car and says dada.  So we go look in the car.  No dada=(.

Owen loves all his grandmas and grandpas and gets so excited to see them.  We all love Owen so much.

Christmas trees!

The day before Thanksgiving Tempe market place had a tree lighting ceremony and the first snowfall.  We got there and had dinner. Owen loves christmas lights so much.  He loved being in his stroller and pointing to all the lights.  He loved his french fry, pizza, cheerios and veggie dinner.  There was a fountain there Owen loves water so we went to look.  When it was time to move on he cried and cried he loves playing in water.  They had an iceskateing show before but we couldn't really see.  I took Owen to see the tree.  He loved touching it.  Then the lights came on and the snow came down.  Owen and I went to stand in the snow to see what it really is since it 80 degrees outside.  Its just soap, but he dosn't really like it, maybe it got in his eye not sure.  When I put him back in his stroller he loved the "snow". We walked through it and he kept pointing to it.

Last night Ryan and I put up our Christmas tree.  This morning I brought Owen to see.  He points OO OO.  He grabs for the star.  Then I set him down next to it and he presides to do what any one year old would.  Pull things off.  He loves looking at the lights.

Desert Botanical Gardens

Ryan told me he was going to have Thursday and Friday off.  So while I was at the library I decided to see what culture passes were available.  I grabbed one for the Desert Botanical gardens.  For some reason I read gardens and thought there would be a lot of flowers.  I guess I missed the Desert part, it was all Cacti. We still had fun.  I liked the Teddy bear cactus and the Devils cactus.  The weather was perfect for going.  There is one section were there are some rocks and in the middle is a fountain of water.  Owen got so excited.  He loves water.  I put him down next to the rocks and he was so happy.  When I picked him up to go he cried and cried.  My baby is becoming more spoiled by the minute.   Anyways I'm glad we went but I'm also glad we got in for free.  If you decided to go I would suggest going on a free night or getting a free pass to go because I don't think its worth $18 unless your not from here and really want to see some cacti.  If you really want you can come wander in my back yard and give me the $18.  I promise you'll see some jack rabbits, dirt and Cacti.

Halloween

My baby's First Halloween.  Our ward had a Trunk-or-Treat the weekend before Halloween and my parents neighbor hood had a party on Halloween so we got 2 parties.  Owen was a little nervous after the party when all the kids were trick-or-treating.  We were handing out candy and he was playing but my phone went off and he started crying. I'm pretty sure his problem was he was tired since he wont take 2 naps anymore.   Next year he should do better.

A pumpkin and a purple head lady...aka Owen and Grandma.

After the party Owen feel asleep and Ryan and I carved our pumpkins.

Before...Ryans pumpkin needs my pumpkin to lean on.

The inside
Ryan was suppose to carve a Diamondbacks D but it feel apart so he free styled a pumpkin face.  If I had to free style a face mine would not be nearly as good as his.

Naps

Owen is in the transition from two naps to one nap.  I thought babies were suppose to give up there morning nap and take a early afternoon nap when they transition.  Owen however thinks he is suppose to take a morning nap and then stay up the rest of the day.  When I lay him down for his afternoon nap all he does is scream like he is being murdered.  I eventually give in and go get him.  For the most part he is a happy baby but I can tell he is overtired.  He is waking up too early in the morning like 530 or 6.  He used to sleep tell like 630 or 7.  Today I decided to take him to the mall so he would fall asleep in the car on the way home.  A good 10 min drive going 70mph on the freeway always makes him sleepy.  I wish he would sleep more...

B-day celebrations---mostly what we ate!

Lobster
Since Ryan's birthday was on a Sunday and we weren't going out to eat he somehow got 3 birthday dinners.  The first one was a joint one with my cousin Heather.  She wanted to try Benihanas cause she had never been there, and they give you $30 free dollars the month of your birthday, so it makes that restaurant semi affordable.  I like going there because you get dinner and a show.  They cook in front of you.  There is my seafood junkie husbands lobster cooking right in front there.  He let me have a couple bites and it was really good.

Next we went out to dinner with his family.  Ryan and I saw this seafood food resturant Kings Fish House, at tempe market place and he wanted to try it.  The only place I know of that serves sea food is Red Lobster so when we saw this place Ryan got excited.  Since I'm not a huge fan of seafood I was trying to decided between the samlon and the chicken.  Everyone told me I had to get the Samlon so I did.  Ryan got to try Sword Fish for the first time.  They print a new menu every day with the fresh fish that they have.  This was the start of there Sword fish season.  After dinner Jeff took Owen home since he wanted to go to bed and the rest of us went to a haunted house.  Ooooooo.  It starts with us checking in at a hotel and then we wander through the rooms filled with blood and ghosts.

Ryan's actual birthday!  We got up and had some Danishes and hash browns.  Then headed off to church.  That night we had steaks, twiced backed potatoes homeaide rolls, applesause and choclate cream pie.  Thanks Becky.  Owen particually enjoed the pie and home aide applesause.  Can anyone guess what Ryan got.   Yes some baseball cards along with pants, running shorts, a game, sunglasses, the movie battleship and some $$$.  What a spoiled boy.

Oh wait one more night of Ryan's birthday/Kevin is leaving in a week.  We went to the Cardinals game.  My first football game.  They got slaughtered.  Sorry boys.  It was a fun experience hopefully if I ever go again they will win.

Fun times in October

Ryan has had a couple of days off and I like to do fun things on the rare occasion when that happens.  One night we dressed Owen up in his Halloween costume and took him to the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins.  I was looking at different places to go and I didn't want to pay to get in since Owen is still young and can't do much, not to mention Ryan is in his last year of school so we aren't making millions yet.  My mom told me to go to mother nature its the one she goes to every year.  It turned out to be great.  Her's my cute little pumpkin.

The first Friday of every month different museums are free!!!  We took Owen to the Children's musuem.  He loved it.  He even  brought home a cold.

Inside a cave

I got a groupon for the aquarium.  Owen loved the aquarium in DC so we went again.  Here I am with a school of fish.

Ryan decided he wanted to learn how to fish.  There is a chance we could move to Alaska next year and just in case we have to live off the land he wanted to learn to fish.  It turns out Becky and her sister Lori used to fish so we meet up at the park and practiced our skills.  I caught a tree branch and and Becky, Lori and Stan all got a fish.

As I mentioned before we are poor college students but we still like to have fun.  We got culture passes from the library which gave us two free passes to the science musuem and Owen is already free so it was perfect for us.  Owen had a blast playing with the balls, legos and spinning round and round in circles as fast as you can.  Since we got in free we decided to pay a few dollars and ride the bike tight rope.  It was  a great afternoon and Owen feel asleep as soon as we got to the car.

Well the months not over yet so look for my next post on my first football game, Ryans b-day, carving our pumpkins, and of course Halloween.

Growing up!

Owen is growing up so fast.  I feel like last week someone stole my baby and replaced him with a different one.  His biggest thing is he learned to crawl!!  I noticed him kinda trying and actually moving his knees but he was tired so I didn't push him.  The next morning though I put the computer in front of him (his favorite toy) and he would crawl for it.  If it was to far he wouldn't go so I would get it so he didn't have to crawl to far and slowly push it back and he would chase it.  Now he flys across the room for certain things other times he still points and wants me to get it for him.

Do you all know the ring toy?  I will try to describe it.  That toy with about 5 different size rings with holes in it and you stack them together.  Well Owen used to take them apart but now I get to take them apart and he puts in back together.

Owen is also babbling alot more.  He loves to chat.  He was so loud during Relief Society talking with another baby.  I eventually took him out but I had to wait for the bowl of chocolate to get to me right. :)  I went to a Relief Society craft night and Owen went out with the boys and he said ma ma.  He was asking for me.  Every once in awhile I will hear it out of him.  He already says Dada all the time.

Owen loves going outside.  I started taking him to the park in the morning.  He loves the swing.  When I stop it to get him out he holds on and bounces up and down for me to push it some more.  He knows what he wants.

When I take Owen to Target I try to show him all the baby toys but they are right next to the electronic department and he wants the TVs.  He starts kicking his legs and gets so excited to see a wall full of TVs.  I try to leave and he crys and points to the TVs.  He doesn't even like the TV to much at home.  He hands me the remote to turn it on and he flips through all the channels.

Owen is growing up too fast I can't believe next month he'll be one.  He is a handful but lots of fun.

Fall/Holiday/might be my last year in Az bucket list

Ever since I had Owen (and started using pintrest) I've been thinking a lot about what traditions Ryan and I could do with our kids.  Some of these ideas I want to do every year, some are just an excuse to get out of the house and do something, some are things to do in AZ that I most likely cant do next year, and some are  a combination of all 3.   So here we go...

  1. Go to the State Fair
  2. Go to the Renaissance Festival ( I guess this is in Feb and March but I still want to go)
  3. Go to a pumpkin patch and carve a pumpkin (Ryan and I already do this every year)
  4. Go to the children's museum (1st Friday doing it tonight check)
  5. Go to the Aquarium already got my tickets through Groupon
  6. Make a special breakfast for General Conference Sunday
  7. Go see the construction process of the Gilbert temple
  8. Take Owen trick or treating he's going to be a pumpkin
  9. Go to a Monday night football Cardinals game (going Oct 29th)
  10. Eat a big Thanksgiving dinner
  11. Make a gingerbread house
  12. Go see the temple lights
  13. Get the Elf on a Shelf book and have a North pole breakfast--- I saw this on Pintrest Owens a little young but Ryan said no lets do it this year.  I'm not to sure Ryan heard anything else but breakfast
  14. Go see Santa
  15. Go to the Zoo when its a little cooler out I cant believe its still in the 100s
  16. Go to an outdoor concert at Freestone park I recently just found out they do this on the first Thursday of every month
  17. Learn how to fish
Thats my list so far maybe I'll add more later.  If anyone has any ideas let me know.

OWEN!!!

Owen is growing up so fast.  He is 10 months old now.  He still won't crawl but I think he is getting closer every day.  The other day he was screaming in his crib as I was trying to get him to fall asleep.  I went in there to check on him and he was sitting up.  What when did you learn to do that?  He has done it a couple time where he is on his stomach and pushes himself up.  So proud maybe he will learn to pull himself up and crawl soon.

He is also turning into a picky eater.  He refuses to eat anything.  He screams bloody murder if I try to put him in his high chair.  The only thing that calms him down is yogurt.  If he sees yogurt he will stop screaming and want some.  Ryan and I have to get some fruit on his spoon then dip in the yogurt so he will eat it.  Most of the time he will eat cheese too.  I'm glad he's not lactose intolerant or he would never eat. He will also try whatever we are eating.  If its something good like ice cream he will probably want more.

This morning he was refusing to eat wouldn't even touch the yogurt.  I guess I mixed it with stuff he didn't like one to many times.  So, I went and got a bowl of cheerios had a couple bites then he scarfed down the rest.  Along with some fruit.  I have to come up with new and creative ways to get him to eat every day.

Weddings!!

The month of September went by so fast.  My sister-in-Law Kari and my BFF/cousin Heather both got married.   I was worried at first because they had both picked the same weekend in different states.  I was going to fly back early Saturday morning so I could be at Heathers.  It all worked out though since they both ended up changing there wedding to different weekends in September.

It was an adventure just getting to SLC for  Kari's wedding.  Everything was fine we got on the flight and it took off.  About a half an hour into it the pilot says the check engine light came on and we have to go back to PHX.  What!?  Aren't we close enough to SLC that we can make it?  Apparently not.  So we go back to PHX and of course Owen falls asleep as we are landing and we find out we have to switch planes.  In the course of getting on and off he wakes up.  We land in SLC about 2 hours late and are heading to pick up the rental car.  We find out they have no cars and we are going to have to wait an hour.  Well Jeff comes and picks Owen and I up as Ryan waits.

Now the wedding part.  Kari and Joey had a great dinner the night before.  We had fun chatting with family and seeing photos of Kari and Joey growing up.  Then the next morning we drove to the Salt Lake Temple.  It was my first time being inside.  They had a cute kid room and a couple of Kari's friends babysat.   When we go to pick up the kids Rocco says he had to entertain Owen, so he wouldn't cry and I asked him, "was that hard work" and he says "yea"!  lol... After the ceremony and pictures we took a drive so Owen would sleep and then ate at the spaghetti factory.  Owen was a trooper letting us drag him around all  day.  On the way to the reception he slept.   Yea!  I was worried he would be tired the whole time.  After family pictures, he had so much fun playing in the grass.  Then we partied the night away.  She had a live band and we danced all night.

Heathers wedding was in good old AZ.  A  little bit easier for me to go to since I gave Owen to Becky to watch and he was able to sleep at home.  She had a nice ceremony in the mesa temple and a fun reception.  We ate tacos, listened to music and talked all night with family and friends.

Both wedding made me think of mine.  I'm so glad I got marry my best friend Ryan!

FHE

I got a great FHE activity to do with your kids.  I heard about it relief society and thought I want to do that with my kids when they are older.  Then I thought why wait so last night I did it with Ryan and Kevin.  The lesson is on keeping the Sabbath day holy.

Tell your kid you are going to make Sundays.  Then set out the ice cream and toppings.  Instead of hot fudge, sprinkles, candy and whip cream sit out peperoni, onions, tomatoes, cheese or any other food your kid likes but you would never put on ice cream.  I made sure and put out Ryan's green Chile salsa which he has told me multiple times he could eat with anything, so it worked perfectly.  When they start compiling say well I thought you liked this food.  Then they will respond with yea but not on Sundays and your response will be well then are there actives you like to do but maybe we shouldn't do on Sundays and have a great discussion on keeping the Sabbath day holy.

BLOOD

If you ever want your husband to take care of your kids and have an excuse not to do the dishes or any other chores step on some glass.  Your foot will start bleeding and you will have to sit down and apply pressure to it.  Then you will have to stay seated or else it will start bleeding again so you might as well surf the internet.  I think I found Owens Halloween costume its a cute pumpkin.  Anyways as I type Ryan is mixing me some Iodine to soak my foot in.  That's what happens when you marry into a medical family you cant just slap a band-aide on.  Although I tried that and it didn't work.  I left a trail of blood as I walked so now I'm sitting.  At least I don't have to go to Urgent care, which my pharmacist husband and doctor father in law were talking about.  I said I don't need to, but they want me to go get a tetanus shot tomorrow and soak my foot in Iodine cause alcohol will burn but apparently Iodine wont.  Well the Iodine didn't really sting but it was cold. Here is the glass!
Photo: The glass that I lacerated the heal of my foot on.

OWEN

Poor poor Owen he is going through the separation anxiety phase right now.  He used to love Ryan coming home and playing with him but now whenever Ryan holds him he is reaching for me.  Although if I leave he is fine playing with Ryan, Grandmas, Grandpas or Aunts and Uncles.  The hard part about this is whenever I lay him down to take a nap he screams bloody murder for a half an hour or until I give up and put him the swing.  He is really to big for the swing though.

These days Owen has the cutest Jack-O-Lateran smile.  I wish I could get a picture but whenever I pull out the camera he wants it and starts reaching for it.  I guess thats kids for you.  We have pictured schedualed for Labor day but by then I'm sure he will have 2 more teeth since his 2 top front teeth are coming in.   O this child of mine is growing up too fast.

Family Reunion

This July we had a Brinkman Family Reunion.   It was perfect timing since Ryan's parents were moving that same week.  Since we are living with them it means we had to move to but most of our stuff was in boxes because all summer long we've been in Baltimore.  For the worst part of the move Owen and I were gone we missed most of the drama and Ryan had more time to help out since we weren't around.    We got to Utah  a day before my cousins and got to spend some time with the Pett girls.  Us girls like to be gone during big moves.  It was fun to see Clarissa and her kids.  I asked if they remembered who I was and Avery said no and Rocco said well I know your my Aunt but that's all.  So cute I guess that's what happens when you only see them once a year and they are young.

Well  back to the Brinkman party.  Apparently eveyones favoirte part was when I wasn't there.  They played some games Friday night and I was getting Owen ready for bed. Oh well to start off with Friday some people took a walk and some of us played at the park.  Owen had a fun time in the baby swing then sitting on the grass watching people play.  Next was the lake.  I was effiy about going since we would be outside but Owen and I sat in the shade and played.  The last time the boat went out I tried Knee boarding I thought I got up the last time but I didn't extended my arms fully so apparenty I didn't.
At the Lake

Then Saturday we spent the day doing rides at Park City.  I took Owen on the carosole a bunch of times and I got to ride the coaster once.  Then I walked him back home.  It was hot he was tired and the lines were long.  No fun.  At about 6 Alyssa got tired of the rides so she voluntreed to play with Owen while I went back.  It was lots  of fun.  There was the Apline slide, coaster, and zip line.  I think I got the better deal.  It was cooler, and shorter lines when I went back.  Thanks Alyssa. Owen did really well for Alyssa till the last half hour when he was tired and he screamed and screamed.  Then I get home, go lay down with him for five minutes and he is asleep.

Zip line see my Grandma!

2 out of 4 nights we were there Owen got to sleep in a big bed.  I think he LOVED it.  While we were there he picked up Desirees cold.  His first sickness.  He had trouble sleeping and would wake up coughing.  Every night he ended up in bed with me which isn't fun on a twin bed.  Luckily half the time we had a queen or king bed.  Owen and I had fun visiting lots of family in July.  Now we get to settle down for a few months before our 6 week adventure in Atlanta.

Rollie Pollie

Owen has turned into a Rollie Pollie.  This week he learned to roll from his back to his stomach.  I thought this would never happen, not because he wouldn't know how or have the strength, but because he hates being on his stomach.  He has always cried whenever I put him on his belly and eventually would just roll his back.  Now he goes both ways.  I"m excited that he learned how and will spend a few minutes checking out the carpet or a toy on his tummy before he decides he wants to flip back over again.  Maybe he will get the muscles to crawl after all.  The down side is he started waking up crying because he rolled over onto his stomach or the end of the bed and can't roll back.  Oh, well he will have to learn.

7 months

Owens 6 month appointment was late due to our adventures in DC.  He was almost 7 months by the time we got him to the new doctor.  He weighs 19.8lbs, and is 28 inches long.  He is in the 91%  for height so we have hope that he will be tall.

Owen is getting too smart.

When he was cranky I used to wiggle a binkie in front of him and he would open his mouth and take it.  Now he turns his head when I try to wiggle it if that's not what he wants.

He loves to chew on my cellphone.  I couldn't hear out it for a few days because all of his drool was in the speakers so I stopped letting him have it.  Instead I would just give him the purple cover and keep the phone.  We'll now he wants the phone not the purple cover.  He likes the light and wants what mommy has.

He is also getting more difficult to feed.  He eats in his highchair fine but dosn't want to drink his bottle.  I have decided its because he doesn't want to stop playing.  I started giving him something to hold like a toy or book or sunglasses and then putting the bottle in his mouth and it works.  If he drops the toy he stops eating tell he get it in his hand again then he will drink his bottle.

He gets bored if we stay home all day.  So we got to get out of the house.  We went to kids club at the mall and he watched all the kids dance around and then we took a ride on the carousel.

We play with blocks, read stories, go swimming and bang on the piano.   He is getting so big.

Flight Home

Ryan scheduled our flight home from Baltimore at 7:30pm.  I never would have done that with Owen just because that is when he goes to bed and who knows how well he'll sleep on the airplane but he bought the tickets so I didn't complain there was nothing to be done.  His reasoning was, his mom was flying in that day to take the car, and we could see her for a little bit, but that plan fell through.  We get to the airport a little early feed Owen, and I find some rocking chairs and rock him to sleep for his evening nap.  Then we find out the flight has been delayed tell 11 and the gate has been moved.  We'll I'm not leaving the rocking chair section tell it get closer to the flight time.  Then Ryan looks at the screen and says there boarding its leaving at 7:30 again.  So he picks up the diaper bag and with Owen asleep on my shoulder we run to the other side of the airport.  Of course Owens bouncing around and wakes up.  We get to the gate and a group of other people are running to board the plane, as well but nothing is going on.  It was a computer glitch the flight is leaving around 10.  We later find out LaGuardia airports air traffic control caught on fire and no flights were leaving so our pilot was stuck in LaGuardia.   Since Owen is awake I change his diaper only to have him pee all over himself and his PJs so he is back in his dirty onsie. Owen sleeps for a couple hours then wakes up for the most part he is good but at at about midnight he falls asleep as we are boarding.  I was going to the first empty row.  Ryan says if you wanted an aisle you might as well sit with this other guy but I said no.  I was hoping for a row to ourselves so Owen could sleep in the middle seat.  We got lucky cause there was extra seats and Owen slept during the flight only crying a few time cause he wasn't comfortable. We land at like 2am I went to change Owens diaper again while Ryan got our bags only to find out he peed through his diaper and I have no clean clothes for him so all he is wearing is a diaper.  Good thing its summer in Arizona so he doesn't need clothes.  We get home at like 3am get to bed about 3:30 and Owen wakes up at 5:50am.  Lets just say this is not a night I want to repeat.

Day #13 Aquarium

Ever since we got to Maryland we said our last we would go to the Baltimore Aquarium and then head to the  airport.  Well that never happened.  Ryan didn't realize the Aquarium was $30 per person tell that morning when he looked it up online.  So we ended up going to the DC Aquarium.  It was small compared to the other one but cheaper and the perfect size for Owen.  We would show him the different fish and he really seemed to look at them.  After the Aquarium we went to the Native American Museum we did all the other ones and Ryan wanted fry bread.  He said we might have to live off this if we move to the Navajo reservation.

6 months

My baby is half a year old, where did the time go.  I read somewhere the second half of a babies first year is when they reach lots of their milestones and start to change.  We'll once Owen hit 6 months he was sitting up, and started to roll over more constantly.  He has rolled about once a month since he was born but now he rolls from stomach to back most of the time.  Every once in a while he will decided he doesn't want to and cry until I flip him over.  Owen can also stand up when I hold him under the arms and he surprised me with two teeth coming in.  Since we are in DC I haven't gone to the doctor yet to see how much he weighs but let me tell you it's at least 20lbs this boy is a chunk.

Day #12 The Capitol!

Well this is our last venture into DC.  We had tickets to tour the Capitol building.  It was really beautiful inside.  Then we took a tunnel over to The library of Congress.  We stopped by the Supreme Court but it was closed for the weekend.  Next time we go to DC we will have to go during the week to see if we can listen to a case.  We have one more week of dog sitting.  I'm sad to leave its beautiful out here not to mention Owen insists on going outside.  He loves to listen to the birds and watch the trees blow.  What am I going to do back in Arizona when its 100 degrees outside.  I know Owen doesn't like the heat because when we go into DC and its hot he screams the whole time and when its overcast he dose fine.  Its a good thing my Grandma has a pool.  Well enjoy the pictures!

Re-try the Zoo!

My mom and Alyssa came to visit.  They had both been to DC a couple years ago and didn't really care about seeing the monuments but wanted to go to the zoo.  Owen did much better.  We drove there so he slept the whole way there and was well rested when we go there.  He spent some time in the stroller but liked to be carried most of the time.

DC Day #10

As you can tell from our other post we have done most of the stuff around DC, but Ryan being the baseball fan that he is, we had to go tour The Washington Nationals Stadium. Owen was really good he made a couple of girl friends that loved him to pieces.  He would smile and giggle at them.  Then he got a little fussy and he feel asleep on my shoulder.

Next we tried to go to the Holocaust Museum but the tickets were gone for the day.  So we walked over to Jefferson Memorial and then went home.

Moving Day!

We have two more weeks left in the DC area.  We were renting someones basement, but now we are dog sitting in a huge gorgeous home. I"m pretty sure I want to take over there house and move in.  Four bedrooms upstairs, on the main floor; kitchen, living room, dinning room, and a sun room, in the basement another living room and bedroom.  The backyard is heaven.  A nice patio to go outside and enjoy the cool evenings, no Arizona heat.  Beautiful green trees, grass and plants.  Owen and I just came in from enjoying the shade and leaves blow.  The dog pretty much just lays there all day he is doped up on meds (doctor orders) but we still take him for walks through the neighborhood.   Not to mention they have every movie Chanel with there cable, along with netflix.  Someday I"ll have my own house, but right now its fun to pretend.

My boys Captain of the ship!
Ryan and I haven't been to church since we have been out here.  About 3 weeks.  We promise to be faithful and go again when we return to Arizona in another 3 weeks but we are pretty much on a 6 week vacation.  Do you always go to church when you are on vacation???  I didn't think so.   We'll to begin on Friday I was going to take Owen for a walk but his tire was completely flat.  I swear it had a hole.  Ryan takes it to fill it  back up with air and Saturday morning its fine so we go on with our adventures.  This morning we wake up to it being flat again.  I was right it had a hole.  I can't go into DC without my stroller that's were Owen naps but we pump it back up again and it works.

Anyways, back to this fine Sabbath morning we were going to go to the Navy Museum and then to the Nationals Baseball game.  We'll that morning we find out there will be 2 players signing autographs and if you know my husband we have to go to that.  So I go buy him a ball to get signed, it came in a case and everything and we decided to the Navy Museum after the game.  We get there and walk the wrong way to get tickets and when we find the line it pretty long and they tell us the cheapest tickets they have is $95 or you can buy a standing room ticket.  We are not that dedicated to baseball, not to mention we don't have an extra $200 just laying around and I'm not standing with a baby for the game.  Now that I am typing this we could have done that since Owen made me stand with him the last game we went to.  O well, he was screaming by the time the game started and the tickets were still like $20.

On to the Navy yard.  Half way there Owen is screaming his head off.  He doesn't like the heat or being ignored for that long in his stroller.  Ryan carries him but he is a chunky kid.  Once we make it to the musuem I change him and I know he is thirsty cause Ryan and I are too.  So I feed him saying this is going to make you feel better.  I keep repeating it so he will eat.  Now I know he just wants to play so I send Ryan to look at the Museum while Owen and I play.  After awhile I Ryan comes back and we finish the Museum together.   Owen always tells us when its time to leave.  He started crying cause he was tired.  He screamed bloody murder halfway back to the car tell he feel asleep.

Fighting away!
Owens favorite way to be held

We couldn't go into the ship because its closed on Sundays

Running the submarine!

We decided it was time to repent and go visit the temple.  The GPS we have is 12 years old so it took us straight through the heart of DC to get there.  It was kinda cool to see everything and traffic wasn't bad since it was a Sunday!  I have decided on 3 places I could live if we moved there.  The neighborhood by the temple, the area we are staying in now, or Alexandria VA Mount Vernon area.

After visiting the temple and walking around the grounds.  I decided it would be so nice to get married there and have your wedding pictures on the grounds of this temple.  Not that I want to get married again (I love Ryan) or that the Mesa temple isn't beautiful,  but look at this temple... The Mesa one is just a box.  The grounds here were so big and green with flowers it was beautiful.
